About Us

Two In France originated from a desire to record the French travel experiences of Ruth, a French ex-pat, and Ricki, an Australian national. Married 34 years and living in Australia, Ruth and Ricki spend several weeks each year touring and visiting family in France. They find communicating through this medium more creative and less boring than sharing slide shows back home. Two In France neither takes itself too seriously nor pretends to offer travel advice. It is purely and simply a record of a couple’s experiences in France. Nothing more and nothing less. If people enjoy it, so be it.

I am a proud French woman, stridently loyal to my heritage. Raised in France, Israel and Tahiti, family circumstances brought me to Australia, where I enjoy dual French and Australian citizenship. My early travels have taken me to many countries and have opened my eyes and heart to the passion of discovering the world and its people. I always look forward to returning to my homeland each year. It fills my heart with indescribable joy and a sense of belonging.

The penalty for marrying a French woman is that I get to spend several weeks a year in France. As a retired Psychologist, I look forward to discovering new restaurants and indulging in my preferred pastime of wine tasting, in-between visits to concerts, churches, museums and cemeteries. I am primarily the navigator and chauffeur, and as I speak little French, travelling with an interpreter keeps me out of trouble.
